To make students acquainted with mineralogical identification techniques

Contents of the Course
Introduction. Sample preparation techniques. Usage and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative techniques in mineral identification: X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Differential thermal analysis (DTA), Thermogravimetric analysis (TG), Infrared spectroscopy (IR), Mössbauer spectroscopy, Raman spectrometry, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and others.
