The aim of the course:
In the trauma course, the aim is to teach students the principles of the initial assessment of trauma patients and to provide theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in managing traumatic injuries according to systems.

General approach to trauma patients, triage, evaluation of multiple trauma patients; Shock and crush injury, blood loss pathophysiology; Head, face and neck traumas, soft tissue traumas, amputated organ transportation, Thoracic traumas, pneumothorax diagnosis and treatment, cardiac tamponade, traumatic cardiac arrest; Abdominal traumas; Spinal traumas, sensory examination, spinal fractures; Musculoskeletal injuries, pain management, trauma team; Environmental emergencies, thermoregulation, hot and cold emergencies, hypothermia, frostbite, drowning, diving emergencies, high altitude diseases; Thermal injuries, resuscitation and primary examination in burn patients, body surface area calculation, burn depth, treatment, chemical burns, electrical burns, burn center indications

 Week 2General approach to trauma patients - II, primary care and resuscitation additional interventions, evaluation of the need for transport, secondary care, re-evaluation, definitive treatment
 Week 3Shock, crush injury; definition of shock, common findings in shock, pathophysiology of shock, pathophysiology of blood loss, when to suspect shock, shock classification, hemorrhage classification, hemorrhagic shock first aid, initial fluid therapy, patient's response
 Week 4Head, face and neck traumas, soft tissue traumas; anatomy and pathophysiology, intracranial pressure, glaskow coma scale, clinical findings of skull base fracture

 Week 6Thoracic traumas, initial examination, airway evaluation, respiratory evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of tension pneumothorax, open pneumothorax and massive hemothorax, circulatory evaluation, cardiac tamponade, traumatic cardiac arrest, secondary examination
 Week 7Abdominal trauma and anatomy, blunt trauma, penetrating trauma, evaluation steps, specific organ injuries
