FOUNDATION & HISTORY  
Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program, the Black Sea Technical University School of Besikduzu opened in 1994 under the student has begun to take. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology in Education from 2006-2007 2 Curriculum training actually began.

ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
1 - Students in Higher Education OSS (Student Selection Examination) to be adopted through an exam based. Exam once a year whether the Student Selection and Placement Center (SSPC) are organized. Candidates, Higher Education institutions, the OSS exam consisting of a combination of their scores, and school grade average score can take a vote. Law No. 4702 with the Vocational and Technical Secondary School graduates placed in Vocational Schools without an examination.
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
This program, houses, offices and industrial facilities air-conditioning, ventilation and cooling plants, train technicians responsible for operation and maintenance. Grown in the technicians, skilled workers and technicians with Mechanical Engineers and of the elements of adequate technical knowledge and practical skills you have addressed the need to resolve. In fact, some small and medium-sized enterprises technicians, the company's senior technical staff, and therefore could be a role of leadership and management take on. On the other hand, students who complete this program, the central system is successful in the vertical transmission or a four-year Teacher Training in Technical Education Faculty of Engineering Faculty of Mechanical Engineering departments to attend the installation is also possible. RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
Electricity and Energy in order to obtain undergraduate degree students are required to provide: a) all courses in the curriculum (for a total of 120 ECTS) to be at least DC's degree in the past, b) 4.0 via the weighted average of at least 2.0 to be acquired, c) 40-day mandatory having completed an internship period of at least two different places and get a passing grade the reports prepared for this internship
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
Students mid-term exam for each course, semester work (projects, seminars, quizzes, homework, or a second mid-term) and are subject to the final exam. Achievement score, the contribution of 50% midterm, final examination 50%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points and final exam are required to obtain at least 45 points. Students at the end of each semester, two courses that make-up exam, you can enter most of the semester. A student (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC), letter grades are considered to have managed one of the students taking the course.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  
The program is available (for a total value of 120 ECTS) have successfully completed all courses and at least 2.0 weighted GPA of 4.00 and 40 working days from the professional internship in which students completing a Diploma given.
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES of GRADUATES  
Electricity and Energy department graduates in many fields related to public and private sector are employed in professions and also able to establish their own businesses.
ACCESS to FURTHER STUDIES  
Associate degree candidates who successfully complete the transition to the vertical test of the universities in undergraduate programs may receive a sufficient score. (Technical Education Faculty of Education, or Engineering Faculty of Mechanical Engineering departments to attend the installation is also possible.)

DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES : 
Part of the students to use classrooms, two computer laboratory and has air-conditioning cooling laboratory.
